Know what you see

Symbols are everywhere. They warn us, guide us, explain things and occasionally leave us completely baffled.

SymbolSpot is a quick daily challenge built around the signs, marks and pictograms we encounter in everyday life. Each game contains six questions drawn from subjects such as road signs, safety, weather, maps, music, mathematics and astronomy.

The aim is to make useful knowledge enjoyable. Some symbols should feel reassuringly familiar; others might teach you something worth remembering.

More than a daily game

Alongside the game, the Symbol guide is becoming a browsable reference collection. It includes symbols that are useful to learn about even when they would be too easy, too specialised or otherwise unsuitable for a quiz question.
